The Woodville South Football Club is proud to announce our Inaugural 2020 Women's Football Team Coach is Chris Glacken.
Chris has been involved in football since the mid nineties, starting his football coaching journey teaching junior football in Western Australia. After moving to South Australia Chris continued coaching local junior football, for several years before commencing a youth develpoment role at Port Adelaide with their Under 15 development squads and undertaking other roles within the Port Adelaide Magpies from 2010 to 2016.
Chris has since moved into senior coaching roles at SMOSH B Grade, Greenacres A Grade coach whilst also continuing his involvement with Port Adelaide in various roles. Most recently Chris was the Div 2 Women's A Grade coach at Fitzroy as well as team runner for both men's A & B Grade.
Chris has attained Level 2 Coaching accreditation and is heavily involved in marathon running and raising awareness and fund raising for Bravehearts (protecting kids from sexual assault) and Australian Cancer Research Foundation. Chris's efforts have raised over $150,000 for those charities.
Chris has also previously played football with the Cats and his family has also been heavily involved with our football club with Danny Glacken (past WSFC President and Trainer) his cousin and the late Peter Hewitt his uncle.
We welcome Chris into the Cats family and look forward to a successful 2020 year hosting our inaugural Women's football team.
AFTERWARDS WE ARE PROVIDING A BBQ LUNCH AND REFRESHMENTS AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH OUR COACHES, TRAINERS AND COMMITTEE.
